Photo-engraved Pet Memorials

Sunset Designs aim to produce memorial stones and plaques that commemorate your much loved pet to the best effect. An image and an inscription can be transferred to stone to make a unique tribute to that special animal that has been a distinctive part of your life. A picture makes your memorial stand out and helps preserves those precious memories.

Choosing the design for a memorial as a lasting monument to a dearly loved and treasured pet will influence what it will be made from. Time has proved that natural stone (granite, marble, slate) will withstand weather, can be shaped and is suitable for engraving or carving. These materials are ideally suited for cemeteries, churchyards, crematoria, gardens and wall fitting. Our favoured material, especially when a photographic image is to be included, is black granite as it shows maximum contrast when engraved. Lettering can be enhanced by the application of silver or gold leaf but this of course will add to the cost.

We will work from your photograph or other artwork to assemble a fitting design for the memorial. Please see our suggestions for submitting the best quality pictures in the How To order area. Although it may appears slightly morbid, it may be prudent to plan for the eventuality of your pet's death and we suggest that, if you don't have one already, you take a picture of the animal in its prime which will ensure that the memorial preserves your best memories. If possible try to chose or take a picture, either digital or film, that is well lit, sharp and has a simple uncluttered background.
